Yeah, I tried. We are so over autumn in this neck of the woods……tobogganing is all I have on my hard drive from this past week! Those two leaves in my picture are all that is left of autumn over here!!

Monday morning the fog appeared like magic! Perfect for moody. I finally got to the river valley mid morning and realized that fog is difficult to photograph! lol. Here’s my best of the bunch!

Head on over to my friend Chay in florida with Chay Hastings Photography and see what’s moody over her way!

In case you are just starting to read my blog, I’m doing a photography project with other photographers from all over North America. We have a theme each week, attempt to photograph the theme in our ‘style’, then post our interpretation and link our blog posts in a big circle. After you’ve checked out my interpretation of this weeks’ them, don’t forget to click on the link to visit the next photographer. We have some super talented ladies, so grab a coffee, tea or tequila and take a few minutes to enjoy a ‘blurry’ or ‘out of focus’ week (our theme today;) – the tequila might not be needed!).

This is my wonderful baby who is already six months old. It seems like just yesterday he was a newborn, sleeping on my bed being photographed and posed by me;)  I guess some things haven’t changed in the past six months! I love this photo, it’s such a soft, sweet, dreamy picture that fits in with this weeks theme.

For my photo-geek friends – this was taken with a lensbaby composer with a plastic optic.

Now go and check out Jackie Peterson and enjoy the upcoming weekend!

Viva la Roller Derby!!

This week on 52 on Fridays our theme was shoes. Shoes. I like shoes. I used to love shoes. I wish I had money so I could LOVE shoes again, but alas, since becoming a mostly stay at home mom my love for shoes has diminished along with my disposable income. I used to have shoes for every occasion. and nearly every outfit;) Nowadays I have only a few pair and sadly they’ve all been around a while. I was hoping to use this weeks theme as my excuse  reason for buying new shoes, but time slipped away and shoe shopping is something I rarely can do. Having three boys makes the mall a distant memory…….and my favourite fancy shoe store an entire ‘event’ when I get to go!

I got to go and see my first ever Roller Derby last weekend with my sister….and all three children. It was awesome. Firstly I LOVED the outfits. I’m not sure it gets any better than ripped nylons, tight hot pants and circa 1980′s looks. I mean, really, what more could a girl with an eye for fashion want?! Aside from the outfits – the physicality of the sport – I swear I have bruises just from watching them – is crazy. I mean, OUCH! I am far too much of a wuss to even pretend I could ever attempt! I much prefer travelling through air at 120mph with the ground far far far below! (For all of you that don’t know me – I used to be a skydiver – many moons (feels like lifetimes) ago! So their fancy footwear caught my eye……shoes……with wheels on the bottom! Roll on in style!

Now head on over to see what Caren found for shoes…….living in California I bet they are awesome! I love shopping for shoes in the US! I remember on my honeymoon I came home with nine pairs!!

Our theme this week was winter (click here if you want the backstory)…..and at first I was worried I might not have a wintry picture to show as it has been such an atypical winter here. But, fear not, Mother Nature reared her ugly head and presented us with FULL ON WINTER. Now my worry was that it was too cold to photograph anything outside (as I type it’s supposed to be a -45 degree windchill (that’s celsius for my American friends!)) Crazy freakin’ cold! So, while the kids were occupied in the back seat of the car I snuck out to take this picture. It’s so cold right now the birds aren’t even interested in the berries:P

Textures used were created by pareeerica on Flickr.

Don’t forget to click on over to see Jodie and what winter looks like for her!

Comments are always appreciated! Thanks for stopping by!
